Failure to complete the application form correctly or to send the correct supporting documents and payment may cause considerable delay in your application being processed.
You can apply for your British passport at the British Embassy in Kyiv.
Your application will be forwarded to the UK’s Regional Passport Production Centre in Düsseldorf for processing.

Adult passport
You should pay by credit card using the credit card form. The cards we accept are Visa and Mastercard credit and debit cards. We are unable to accept Maestro cards, American Express, JBC or Diners’ Club cards.
You must submit photographs that meet our criteria - see the IPS rules for photographs. Failure to do so will delay the processing of your application whilst we wait for correct photographs to be submitted.
Your passport will be returned to the British Embassy in Kyiv by secure means. Please note that this may mean that the processing time for a passport application can be up to 6-8 weeks. You will receive a telephone call from the Embassy when your passport is ready for collection.
We would remind customers that travel should not be booked until a passport has been issued and received by you. We cannot accept responsibility for any costs incurred if travel is booked and subsequently cancelled before you have received your passport.

All foreign legal documents submitted with a passport application (such as birth/death/marriage certificates, divorce papers, change of name documents, affidavits, etc) should be accompanied by an official translation. You can find a list of officially recognised translators here [PDF]. You cannot get a friend or relative to do this for you.

If you need to travel urgently and your normal passport is not available you should contact British Embassy, Consular Section in Kyiv at +38044 490 3660 (11:00 – 13:00) or outside these hours in case of emergency.
If you need to travel urgently and you cannot wait for your full replacement passport application to be processed, the Consular Section of the British Embassy in Kyiv may be able to issue an Emergency Travel Document (ETD) to travel back to the UK or any other country which accepts a UK ETD.
Please note they will not be able to answer general passport questions or give information on passport applications in progress.
